Parking Lot Cabrio Showcase

Parking Lot Cabrio Showcase

It’s time for an impromptu look at two of the cars currently hanging out in the Fluid parking lot. And they both happen to be ragtops.

First up is the S5 we’ve been talking about recently. It’s taking up residence at shop for a little while for a few go-fast bits, and also for development for future products for this platform. It’s already back in fabrication after these shots were taken (the water/meth pump arrived today, finally), but its constant presence as of late is not unwelcome, as it’s a car that’s classy with a bit of aggression. We just finished installing H&R coilovers and the Vossen CV2 wheels you’ll see below, and the results are a definite improvement over the stock aesthetic:

And next, we have the personal vehicle of our Tech Director, Mark. This E36 cabrio is no ordinary vehicle. Its standard powerplant has been removed in favor of an engine from an E36 M3, and its sound is much improved through a custom stainless steel exhaust. To keep the aesthetic aggressive, Mark’s rocking the sport wheels from a 2009 E90 335 and an Alpina front lip. Not content with looking nice, Mark’s got some altered suspension parts under the body, as well. The low is brought to the table by way of Ground Control coilovers, and lateral stiffness is bolstered through stiffer front and rear sway bars. It’s a little sleeper car, and Mark can be seen smiling from ear to ear on most days on the roads of Plainfield and Naperville:
