Custom C6 Corvette Intake : Progress!

Today, we’ve started test-fitment for our Custom C6 Corvette Intake.

Let’s start off with saying that this design might not necessarily be the final product yet. Obviously, as fitment continues, issues may arise or better ideas may get tossed around, so this might not be the final design. Or it might. We’re the masters of suspense, you know.

Either way, this Corvette intake is looking to improve seriously upon the design from other companies. The way most aftermarket Custom C6 Corvette Intake routes the airflow is a bit constricting and doesn’t pull in the best air from the best possible location. Ours, though, will definitely improve upon overall airflow dynamics and attempt to grab the coldest air possible from the front of the car (without, you know, being half an inch off the ground). For now, though, it’s tacked together in several sections awaiting more fitment and potential redesigns. Here’s a shot of the portion of the airboxes that contain the filters:

And here’s the incomplete top version of our Custom C6 Corvette Intake. It’ll connect to the MAF housing via its OEM flange, which will then head to the intake manifold:

Here are the sides that we’re also tacking together currently. These will go to the airbox from underneath the car:

And finally, a quick shot was taken earlier than the rest, showing the early stages of fitment in its appropriate spot:

In the meantime, if you are looking for some custom aluminum fabrication for your project car, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us ASAP! We specialize in high-quality fabrication on your new, classic, exotic or project car. We work closely with FD studios, who uses the latest CAD software to design and analyze parts throughout the fabrication process. For this Custom C6 Corvette Intake, we had to render this digitally to best determine the optimal way to build this piece. Fluid Design Studios gave us the ability to cut an exact flange that could work with our given space and durability constraints. The design was then transferred via a CAM program for cutting out of a solid plate of aluminum, on our in-house CNC Machine. Our capabilities easily allow us to be able to create almost any part you may need, with the only limits being on your imagination and pocketbook! Please call us right away at our Naperville location, 630 913 9604 or email Blog@fluidmotorunion.com for your automotive fabrication needs. you guys need to hook up with a good injection molder! As beautiful as your creations are, plastic would be so much less money and maintenance!
