An Easier Solution

An Easier Solution

We’re all about efficiency at Fluid MotorUnion. Oftentimes, there exists an easier solution to getting the job done. And we’re here to find that solution.

Today’s easier solution comes to us by the way of the C63 oil cooler. We’re almost done with its redesign, but we have been searching for ways to make this part easier to both create and put together. By changing the three-piece side of the oil cooler into a single-piece design, we’ve reduced the number of parts needed on the side from three to one, reduced the number of items to be cut on the mill from three to one, and reduced the number of welds necessary to affix it from three to one. This cuts down on a lot of time, as well. Here’s what the old sides looked like, welded onto the oil cooler:

And here’s what the new side looks like:

Definitely an improvement. Plus, it looks a lot more slick. And we’re definitely in the business of slick.

Although we’re all about making things easier, some things just aren’t easy. Like putting an stretch H2 limousine onto our lifts. Thankfully, Luci is a pro at this; the lifts in his garage are meant to handle limousines, and he’s been doing this for quite some time. It doesn’t make it any less formidable, though, so we snapped a picture of his most recent limo work. There wasn’t a single angle in the entire garage that could capture the entire H2 in one frame:
