Now that we’ve got a small amount of free fabrication time…it’s back to the stacks.

The stacks themselves are almost done; they’re currently in the mill once again. This time, though, instead of being cut out, they’re being hollowed out:

And they certainly look much more functional when they’re hollowed out, too…

Meanwhile, as the stacks are receiving their final cuts, the other pieces of the stack assembly are undergoing some additional shining-up in the vibratory finisher:

After the stacks are cut and polished, the lengthening process begins (welding extensions to the bottoms of the stacks, then sanding down the welds for a picture-perfect finish), then we can start assembling the final product. This is shaping up to be even more epic than our full-blown E46 stack setup, so keep that seat warm and don’t stray too far from the computer screen.
