First update from the Tuning event!

First update from the Tuning event!

How is it going guys, sorry for the lack of updates the last week – It has been nonstop tuning back to back! Here is an update on some of the cars we have seen in here.

We started off the event with a good customer of ours with his 996 TT. Numbers turned out pretty strong especially since we were starting with a car that has already been tuned and still ended up with the gains you see!

Next up was a pretty stock E55. You may have seen the thread recently started on MBWorld about this car but in case you haven’t here is the story. This customer was in about 3 months ago bone stock and put down 360whp on our dyno. We started planning out the direction we wanted to head with his car and tossed together a complete mod list. The rest will be finished sometime next month but these pulls were done with step one which consisted of an ASP 180mm pulley and a custom Fluid MotorUnion/ PowerChip tune.

First two cars together!

Next we had some touching up to do on a 335 tune. These graphs are still being kept quiet!

Next was probably THE cleanest E36 M3 out there. 60,000 miles, mint paint and mint condition.

Next we had the powerful S600 Twin Turbo V12!

Stay posted on this car, dyno tuning it to perfection!

Very clean and slightly modded 545i. RPI scoops, dinan intake, and a general tune that all of us here weren’t too satisfied with but we will definitely be back at this car in the near future.

Here is the stroy of the day!Late last night a customer that has been debating and debating about if he wanted a tune or not arrived while we were finishing up an M3 last night. Asked if we could still do it and we told him no problem at all and that we could toss him on next. Car was loaded on the dyno and strapped down, everything was good to go so we began with a few baseline dyno pulls. The numbers that the car was giving us were extremely low for an E60 so we began to scratch our heads a bit. No fault codes, no rough running issues, car ramped up perfect, it really seemed that car was running perfect. After about 20 minutes of cool down time we started it back up for its next and hopefully max baseline dyno run and we were getting an unpleasant noise from the VANOS units. We shut the car down and started to inspect the car pretty thoroughly for an major issues. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, no Service Engine light, not even a pending fault we started the car back up and were still getting the noise. Shut down again and decided to run a check for this cars history since the owner purchased the car just a few months ago. The history told us that the car had a VANOS unit replaced just last year due to an unpleasant noise, no failure though. We then decided that it would be smart thing to have this car checked out before proceeding any further with the tune.

We gave the customer as much information as we could to help with the situation and we came to a conclusion that it is a strong possibility that the last time the VANOS unit was repaired it didn’t fix the issue or possibly the unpleasant noise was the result of another issue that was current.

Either way we hope the customer’s friend helped with the issue at the BMW dealership, if not our team is more than happy to do the best we can to sort the car out. Because of the situation we have extended the special pricing for this customer once the issue has been taken care of!
